A 40-year-old male presents to the ED with fever for 12 days. He complains of crampy abdominal pain, constipation, headache and has recently developed a rash. On exam, he appears well, GCS 15 and his vital signs are T 39°C, BP 115/70, HR 42 bpm, O2 Sat 98%, RR 14. His neck is supple and his abdomen is mildly distended with diffuse discomfort on palpation. There are erythematous, blanching, maculopapules on the anterior trunk. He has recently traveled to Cambodia and Vietnam. What is the likely appropriate management?
