A 14 y/o M was sent to the Emergency Department by his Family Physician after a loss of consciousness (LOC) upon receiving an immunization. His mother is with him and witnessed the event. She describes a brief LOC of approximately 20 seconds. He returned to baseline level of alertness within 1 minute. Just prior to the LOC he told his mother he felt unwell and looked pale and diaphoretic. In the ED he had normal neurologic and cardiac examinations. He has no family history of sudden cardiac death. This is his first episode of syncope. Which investigations are appropriate at this time?
