EMU 365: Physician Burnout

New EMU365 video from EMU2018 featuring Dr. Peter Brindley, critical care doc at University of Alberta. Dr. Brindley explores ways in which physicians can find happiness and meaning in their work. A simple act of showing gratitude is one of the tools in his toolbox for how to reduce burnout and promote resiliency.

Speaker Bio

Dr. Peter Brindley is a full-time Critical Care Doc at the University of Alberta Hospital; Professor of Critical Care Medicine, Anaesthesiology, and Medical Ethics. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 25 book chapters, 50 lesser manuscripts, and a handbook. Over 400 invited presentations in 12 countries, and over 40 plenaries. He was a founding member of the Canadian Resuscitation Institute; and was previously Medical-Lead for Simulation, Residency Program Director, and Education Lead at the UofA. He has advised the Canadian Patient Safety Institute, and the Royal Colleges of Canada and of Edinburgh.
