EMU 365: Pediatric EM Expert Panel

This EMU365 video from EMU2018 features Drs. Anthony Crocco, Angelo Mikrogianakis and Farhan Bhanji in an all-star pediatrics EM expert panel discussion. These experts discuss their opinions on ketamine for procedural sedation, adjuncts in bronchiolitis management as well as disposition decision making, nuances of fluid resuscitation, the evidence for TXA in pediatrics, trauma resuscitation, antibiotics to avoid, initial management of seizure in children and more.

Speaker Bios

Dr. Anthony Crocco is a Pediatric Emergency Physician and is the Medical Director & Division Head of the Division of Pediatric Emergency at McMaster’s Children’s Hospital. He is an Associate Professor at McMaster University. Anthony is interested in teaching Pediatric Emergency topics as well as teaching EBM concepts.

Dr. Angelo Mikrogianakis is the Chief of Paediatric Emergency Medicine at the Alberta Children’s Hospital and and Associate Professor at the University of Calgary, Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute. His research interests include the emergency diagnosis and treatment of concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury as well as prehospital and Emergency Department indicators of future problems.

Dr. Farhan Bhanji is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics and works clinically in both the Pediatric Intensive Care and the Pediatric Emergency Department. His clinical interests are in Extracorporeal Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Transport, Cardiac Critical Care as well as Global Health.
